Looking At the Sky … On the road again, seen past Lake Conroe
Smoke over the water
soon there will be.
I must go meet a friend,
can't wait to see.
I'm on the road again
to meet my friend.
The firefighters will come,
the smoke will end.
I'll find out tomorrow
what's in the air.
Papers will tell me then
or do I care?

You care Jim. I just know you do. What a great shot. Hope you don't have to breathe any of that though.
Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)
It almost looks like a giant eagle, head on, is taking flight as it unfurls its wings...
If you're like me you care at the time and then go on and forget about it. I hope it was nothing serious.
D'ya really think it was smoke or just a weirdo cloud formation? I don't like to think of a whole forest going up in flames, and that was a big enough puff of smoke that it might have been just that...I hope not.

March winds on the Sanibel Island Causeway
great shot--it's scary when you see fires and stuff like that while on the road.
This is indeed an interesting photo, Jim. Beautiful and scary at the same time.
You have a nice day ... and take care!
that's more like a structure than a cloud of smoke!!
wow
hope it was OK
even more ominous since the rest of the scene is so blue and happy
love your poems :)
Great catch! I really like how you combine your photo with poetry. But now I'm stuck. I'll be humming those first few bars of "Smoke on the Water." It's okay though - I always have liked that song!
~~~Blessings~~~
I think you do, Jim. The curiosity about the smoke and the movement toward the friend and the thoughts in both places are the movements of a caring mind.
Oh my ... what an amazing capture and marvelous poem to provide a context. Sorry to be visiting so late, but I've been ill and haven't done much of anything for a week or so. I'm doing what I can to catch up today.
Hugs and blessings,
Wow, that's a lotta smoke. I hope it was nothing serious.
Thanks for playing along.
