SkyWatch Friday (my ninth) -- Calm Before the Storm
.
These pretty Southeast Texas clouds are moving from northeast to southwest. Later they will be moving from east to west, then from south to north and finally from west to east.
What is going on? Here is their source (ABC13 Weather Storm News).
Today our Houston area is preparing for Hurricane Ike (and remembering at least 1,956 deaths in 2005 from Katrina and Rita).

Yikes. That super size is huge. I could see the stone wall on the house in a lot of detail. I forgot to even look at the sky. I was so interested in what else I can see.
My Sky Watch Friday blog is at my Canon Pixels blog. If you have time I would appreciate your having a look at the sky peeking through the oak tree leaves.
This is an amazing shot, Jim. Gotta watch out for those calms!
This is a beautiful shot. Hope you wont get the brunt of the hurricane.
You sure are having your share of weather scares and bad storms. Beautiful sky during the calm, though.
