Questions -- a Poem for NaPoWriMo 2024 Day 25
Happiness and White Lies
What makes you happy, bunch of queries
Answers may tell us, what is it really
I wasn't worried very much at all
I'm a happy guy, questionnaire can find
Proust Questionnaire shows my desires
One question got my attention, liars,
"What do I think about telling white lies?"
I've always believed in them, they're okay
Okay if it's minor and doesn't hurt
Probably like Santa, Easter Bunny,
and help young kids enjoy their holidays
What if your date, could be a steady gal
She's a minor but tells you adult age
Very serious, then you find her age
Run, run quickly! Tell her mom? Have a choice?
That is more than a white lie, pure trouble
She looked older, you fell for it, but now?
Hurtful to break but strictly illegal
Prison can beckon, truth you should have known
Could it be different if she's expecting
That happens quite often, marriage might quell
Got to let the chips fall, hope for the best
Lawyer might help; minor fell for your car

Wow!!
You have been thinking deep!!
We married VERY young, that lasted four kids and 13 years.
Oh, yes, some lies are dangerous, life-changing and earth shattering.
Yes there is hidden gems is work, Well done.
My cousin and her husband married when she was legally under age. She took her parents to court for refusing permission, and won. It was a long and happy marriage which lasted the rest of her life
PS Well,m as she wa sunder age, I suppose it's truer that she appealed to the courts rather than initiated a case. (I was ony a little older than her myself, and ended up being chief bridesmaid.)
You and your "cars." I never tire of how you spin a poem featuring them. And the underage female too.
Much to ponder here. Thank you.
Nothing quite like getting to know a woman as a human being before the man lets his hormones take over...assuming the man has any consciousness *but* his hormones, which I'm not sure all of them have!
Pris cilla King
(who adores men, the ones who have more in their heads than hormones, anyway)
Much to think about here, Jim.
