Ode to Mosquito -- a Poem for Friday Writings #131 and for my modification for dVerse

Oh Poor Mosquito
*Oh poor mosquito bane of man
We adore some of your courage
Take chances of death or crippling
Synthetic chemicals inhaled
*You were swatted in innocence
*you minding your regular ways
Habits you learned at baby nest
Fast learner, learned from seeds left there
*Mother Nature in your being
*will to stay alive. Embedded
In those seeds keys to survival
*Earnestly bite and propagate

and I have renewed this poem from the graveyard of unused drafts not yet discarded (read below)
- I was first linked with Laura at dVerse prompt at
where we are to improve a fragment with problems or is unfinished.
I chose one which I had not finished. Meant to be a short ode I tried to keep the theme. Lines Italicized and starting with an asterisk are original. If something is underlined, I have added to the old line.

Well done, Jim. You almost make me sympathiza with the blood-suckers! Almost.
I know the place they have in the echo-system, and the joy of birdsong is a clear result... still I prefer not being their food (so selfish)
its nice that you fished out your Ode to a maligned creature and with such pathos too
I epuld not have thought od an ode to s mosquito. I judt think pesky creatures
Interesting poem Jim
much♡love
Well I've never read an ode to the mosquito!!! Of course, you would think of it. LOL. We don't have very many of them in Central Oregon, thankfully.
As long as they stay away from me, I'm fine.
How refreshing to read something from the point of view of the poor old mozzies who, as you point out, are only doing their thing as best they know how.
And now I feel bad for the little ones, again. Just trying to live. I really like your response to the prompt
Well written ode. :)
Like everything in nature they should be marvelled at but, really, what were the gods thinking?
Mosquitos take one look at my husband and immediately go crazy for him... those hussies. :D
The little suckers adore my sister. She just has to step out of her house,
and they immediately hone in on her.
