An Apple Fell
An apple fell last night
A big round juicey one
It rolled beyond the light
Where it could not be found
Rolled and rolled out of sight
Still in her robe early
Before the gardner came
Tip-toed past distant tree
Two feet more there it lie
Snatched that imp up to see
Not one bite she did take
Back in her shirt to stay *

I imagined the character in your poem with rosy cheeks, Jim, like the apple.
ReplyDeleteI love the story you've created about the picture.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully drawn, Jim! I can picture the character with the apple in her robe early in the morning. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt!💝
ReplyDeleteVery entertaining Jim, in a visual way!
ReplyDeleteShe saw that apple in her dream ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, that's no fun, no Eve she. And I want to know more about that gardener.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the gardener came early? Imagine that!
ReplyDeleteThis is nice, the poem, the mystery of what could have happened and the inspiration painting of Venus Verticordia
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday
much💝love
Some juicy treasures are sure meant to be kept.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...did she dream of the apples falling or did it tell her come choose me? Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour poem is as voluptuous as the paintings.
ReplyDeleteHas a Garden of Eden feel to me. She snatches up that apple but has yet to take a bite, innocence maintained...for now.
ReplyDeleteGood work Jim. when i think of apples, i think of pies and juice that are made from them. all so delicious.
