The New Spring

Flowers bloom--freeze not
January grass is green
Winter never came

Baby rabbits run year 'round
Climate change is here

April's baby birds

Keeps calendar time

Humans much confused
This one goes jalopy spin
Eagles on 8-track

  3. I love them all! And actually the 4th is a kyoka. (Hope you don't mind me telling you.) The 5-line form is a tanka, but when it deals with human behaviour it is called a kyoka. The senryu is a haiku that deals with human behaviour.

  4. We had a curiously warm winter too. It does make me nervous about what the summer will bring.

  5. Eagles on 8 track, now that is an image. I saw an eagle soaring yesterday and now this is humming in my head, do you have any Steve Miller on 8 track?

I wanna fly like an eagle

    1. I don't actually have an 8 track player but, I found the reference interesting. Thank you for your kind comment.

  11. I used to have that old 8 track player and probably still have tapes stored away in some box of forgotten memories somewhere. These invoked a few memories, that's for sure
