Earth Day 2020
April twenty-second again
The day, Earth Day 2020
To me it is recognition
Beautiful planet where we live
We plant new trees in its honor
Fertilize and trim what we've got
Trees and flowers Nature's resource
Beautiful planet we must help
Pick up trash that others have left
Proclaim to the world our duties
Food and clothing minerals and rocks
Beautiful planet sustains us
We mustn't forget the critters
They were here way before we came
Those critters and Indian race
Beautiful planet room for all
Earth Day 2020 calls us
Protect preserve and cultivate
Appreciation planet good

Indeed, Earth Day should be a celebration of life. I really like the idea of planting new trees and cleaning up our shared home.
ReplyDeleteEarth Day should be a national holiday where we plant green life to grow a future.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. Wonderful when we all do what we can, and it does have an effect.
ReplyDeleteOur planet is beautiful, so full of life, and we must treasure it accordingly, Earth Day is a reminder – we need to do it every day.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful earth day poem, Jim. I love it, it lifts my heart. There is so much we can do to help Mother Earth, all of the things you hve mentioned here.
ReplyDeleteProtect, preserve and cultivate.. yes! May it be so! Happy Earth Day, Jim 💝
ReplyDeleteEarth day....such an important day and then to read that the Occupant yet again guts a law within the EPA...another kick to the gut of Mother Earth. November can not come soon enough....and hopefully the Earth will smile after the election results.
