The day the sun didn't rise
An ordinary day it seemed to be
The star lights were put out, all wicks were snuffed
Morning dew on grass, deer's last time for wet
.
Ducks in the pond, diving for the big fish
Commuters' long drives were nearly ended
Darker than norm this day, street lights still lit
.
Calling from beyond, Sun was sleeping in
Commerce came to a halt, greed froze in place
Couldn't see in dark, folk went back to bed

A beautiful cloudy day
ReplyDeleteStar lights were put out yet street lights still lit....an unusual day when the Sun is sleepy..and such days are round the corner...
ReplyDeleteAny day's a good day. Weekends are better, of course.
ReplyDeletehumorsous monday morning ditty.
ReplyDeleteyou captured the monday commute

This is exactly the day today... except I didn't stay in bed alas... clouds and darkness that make me shiver
ReplyDeleteDays like that are great for staying in bed and getting some extra rest....especially rainy one. :-)
ReplyDeleteA lovely cooling day, Dr & Mrs Jim :)
ReplyDeletegreed froze in place… ah - perhaps its not such a bad thing, then. :)
ReplyDeleteOuch--greed freezes almost everything but itself. Chillingly expressed. Thanks, Jim. k.
ReplyDeleteI love to hunker down on a cold, dark day. Living in the desert, I rarely get the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day... the one that drives greed back to sleep... maybe even imagine different ways of being.
ReplyDeleteYes, what a wonderful thought that for a least for one day greed would sleep right through it.
