One Single Impression: Monument

Fall from grace

they stood tall and proud
monuments to once known gods
center of worship
now grown old and decaying
no one knows and no one cares

Lovely take on the prompt... the ruins fallen from grace maybe but has a history hidden within, making it very charming.

Well said Jim. Everything is temporary in long run. It is a very humbling thought.

Thanks.

It's always sad to see such monuments in this state. No respect for the past.

you have said it right Jim, those monuments, their grandeur of olden times now forsaken!

what make them survive is the history they've left for this generation!

i like your take of the prompt Jim!

such a gorgeous photo and your poem does tell a tale of these ancient monuments. Somehow I always love seeing them and how they have endured as much as they have.

It's very sad to see an ancient monument in ruins. I always wonder what the history behind it is. Lovely verse!!

Sure, nothing lasts forever, but these monuments still stand tall and proud to tell a tale. They may fall and crumble one day, but their memories will live on in stories.

Wonderful poem. :)

Jim this gives a great feel for our monuments, it does seem as tho those that were so important to our generation are no longer of interest, such a shame! Lovely writing!
