A lovely poetic fairy tale Jim with a bittersweet feel! Hope all is well with you and yours.
You told the fairy tale in poem form! Bravo.
I love the poem and a peek at the story that inspired it, which somehow I have either missed or forgotten in my long life........
Good story--I could have kept reading. :)
A wonderful rendition of an intriguing fairy tale.
Who knew that the brothers Grimm would write anything so, well, suggestive.
Well, I learned there is an old German fairy tale called "Snow White and Rose Red", a song of the same title, and a shorter version titled "The Ungrateful Dwarf" of all things! You've broadened my fund of knowledge with your fairy tale, Jim! Thanks
Such a tender bear..I know they'll cry when he's not there any more.
Wonderful fairytale poem, Jim. Who would not cry at the loss of Bear.
