One Single Impression: Walls

Walls

Walls restrict, walls constrain,
walls confine, walls restrain.

Walls protect, walls support,
walls will cool, walls will warm.

Dark and dank, hate these walls.
Free and safe, love those walls.

Well how to you feel now?
Depends, which side you're on?

  1. Depends also if you are priiviledged enough to have walls (although some people prefer not to have any weighing them down).

  2. When first considering the prompt, I also thought about which side of the walls you were on often made a difference, especially for me as I sometimes suffer from claustrophobia. I'll take my walls with a strong side of windows, please!

  6. Very astute, Jim. Some people would give a lot to have any semblance of security and safety even if behind walls.

    they are this
    and they are that
and perhaps they are even an illusion

  8. You used the prompt beautifully...and I also loved what you said at my blog when you commented:

Doors and windows are wall's most vulnerable places so we do pay a price for our light.

So wisely put! Thanks for your words. :~)

  10. When you really stop and think (like I did reading your poem) there's an awful lot to a 'mere' wall!
