Weary Days
Weary days, they induce
Induce restful night sleep
Sleep like a baby does
Head under the covers
Only nose and mouth out
Weary days, they are hard
Legs and feet pay a price
But appetites may grow
Dinner table looks great
Sit and rest those tired feet
Weary days not stopping
Stop when the whistle blows
Warm water wash those feet
Soak them a little while
Lift them high easy chair
Weary days get better
Rest has come to you, but
Gotta get back up now
Cook supper, tired hands
Though hungry mouths to feed
End of day pillow waits
Play with kids, watch TV

That's where I rest my weary bones too - on the loveseat watching tv. Smiles!
ReplyDeleteI think we all get to an age where we have more weary days, Jim, and the right to a restful night sleep, some TV in a cosy chair, and time with the grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteYou find the healing moments in this "days end" poem. Restful time before bedtime is particularly attractive.
ReplyDeleteBusy days! Happy days! Weariness is well earned and deserved.
ReplyDeleteJust to go on and find healing in the warm water, the easy chair and a pillow Wonderful
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to enjoy such rest when you have the need of it, Jim...
ReplyDeleteThe photo made me smile - and what better to reach a phase in life when we can relax - and if we're lucky nap!
ReplyDeleteI smiled at the end when you found a place to rest after a day of weariness.
ReplyDeleteResting some before bedtime is a cozy way to sleep well. Nice one, Jim!
