NOTE: PARTS HERE ARE TRUE BUT IN THE MAIN IT IS FICTION. FOR SURE THE CLEANING LADY WAS NOT FIRED.

Love your clocks. Sounds like you are ready for a more hands on cleaning lady! Too bad about the smashes. Especially when they can't be replaced.
ReplyDeleteOh, how sad! Souvenirs are indeed irreplaceable.

I saw a wall of glass fall in Borano when a glass seller accidentally got hooked on a piece. I think her fate was similar, although it might have meant feast of famine for her family. Vivid memory.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a collection of clocks you have there, Jim. When you've invested emotion into an object and someone smashes it, it hurts. Glad she got the boot.
ReplyDeleteSo sad... but maybe it was an accident really
ReplyDeleteThat is sad, Jim... but your remaining clocks are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI would be SO annoyed, Jim... That's such a bummer!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
David

That was my first thought: she’s fired.
ReplyDeleteYou've got quite a collection of clocks so you will always keep track of time. A shame of these souvenirs. Was it a glasblown egg or one of these crystal ones?
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm surprised you can write of it with such equanimity.
ReplyDeletePS I'm particularly taken by your French carriage clocks.
ReplyDeleteThe irreplaceable when broken cause tremendous strife, yet these precious things are not an irreplaceable life.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I think this is a true story ??? You need a helping (young person) hand, my Friend.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having someone else break something of mine! I break enough of my own stuff, lol.
ReplyDeleteI've cried when mementos like that got broken. I'm glad it was mostly fiction.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful clocks! I'm sure the cleaning help was very upset as well!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the 'family' of clocks all showed different times - just the way human families have their own individual idiosyncrasies too. :-)
ReplyDeleteHahaha... I'm sorry but I couldn't help laugh. Please forgive me I know how it feels when our treasured souvenirs are tampered with
ReplyDeleteClocks AND pots AND glass? Definitely expedite termination :-( Hope this was fiction!
ReplyDeleteGreat work combining prompts.
ReplyDeleteGlad the lady wasn't fired :)
