Super enjoyed this! Breaking the nonet into mini-stanzas was inspired, and the repetition makes me think of the bird bobbing its head--glad, glad, glad.... I like, too, the limited vocabulary. It gives the poem a wonderful simplicity. :) Stephanie
ReplyDeleteI have a bird and he has a mirror, and he is quite infatuated with the bird on the other side. Enjoyed this Jim. Hope all is well with you and Mrs. Jim.
ReplyDeleteYes, they like mirrors. Our driving car stays out in the driveway and I've seen them holding on the mirror top and looking down either looking for bugs or looking at self.

I loved rhe two pieces I wrote for this prompt — you should come read them.,
ReplyDeleteI have seen a bird on my car gazing at itself in the mirror, pondering it's own reflection. Nice use of the form.
ReplyDeleteThis form and your poem were made for each other .... I must try a nonet one day.
ReplyDeleteLovely nonet Jim.
