A Cake Lover Tells
My favorite
A cake with candles
Candles burning brightly
Quickly blow them out
Ones for me to blow
But first I make a wish
A wish I'll want to come true
Birthday spent with you
Will happen I know
'Cause you always do
You'll find I'm running away
So then you run with me
And bring my cake along

ReplyDeleteI love this jaunty poem! I wish the protagonist joy in both cake and companion.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, please. May there always be cake and wishes that come true. Lovely poem and what a beautiful granddaughter you have. Thanks for sharing. I bless you and here's a wish for your speedy recovery. I mean speedy: to not be able to taste cake? Not a good thing. Be well. xo
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful.....the cake and the company too
ReplyDeleteAn excellent wish!
ReplyDeleteI hope your wish comes true!
ReplyDeleteSo very sweet. I want to have my cake and my wish too! This is Karin/Manicddaily. I may end up posting anonymously as I sometimes have trouble with Google! TAKE CARE!
ReplyDeleteGoogle has hurt me too on email, but I've learned the system fairly well for the rest.
DeleteTheir search engine knows me very well as well.

Cakes with burning candles--waiting for wishes--are the very best. I hope your granddaughter's birthday was perfect. I hope you got to taste the cake.
