Sleeping Cats
Kitten mine looks half asleep
really he's sound asleep but
He sleeps with one eye open
Kat learned this from the feral
and catches mice in his sleep
Sort of like his master is
With one eye open looking
both looking for food or prey
He's tough gypsie type alright
But gentle as a kitten
when I'm around always was
We are one of a kind, us
I kissed them both, feed them now
Carousing and prowl all night
After breakfast sleep all day
Life in the fast lane is good

At the end I found a collage of goodies on screen.
I chose "Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice," her bio
on video at 1hour 33 minutes, it was well worth it to me.

Very nice poem Jim. I translated it because the translator is not working on your page. Thanks also for the song from the Eagles. This one was not known to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim. Well, I love this, and "life in the fast lane" made me chuckle. Wonderful stuff, and thank you for being a supporter of my list prompt from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteps--this is very odd--I can leave a comment but then I cannot see my comment or anyone else's. Strange.
ReplyDeleteThat's always the very best and smartest way to sleep
ReplyDeleteCats are so incredibly mysterious, love the visual of one 'in the fast lane'~ we miss having a kitty, but have decided to forego that pleasure leaving us free to travel without worrying about finding a pet sitter. (if/when we travel again.)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Jim! Cats are amazing creatures indeed! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLife in the Fast Lane with cats is sleeping in the sun, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh poor kitty, it sounds like he is missing his sweet former owner. Poor thing. I am glad he has a good home now and hope he settles in.
ReplyDeletewell that is the theme song of alley cats every, that and cat scratch fever, and anything by the stray cats i guess. this is a cute poem jim, enjoyed the read
ReplyDeleteBeing outdoors as a feral cat is no happy adventure unless your somewhere like Turkey, where the whole community adopts the ferals.
