The girl next ...
The girl next door
Always in my dreams
Face to behold
Beauty beyond means
Beauty's skin deep
I've always been told
But in this dream
Ugliness unfolds
Body's the same
Pretty face as well
There's something wrong
Makeup's cast a spell
Black and pale white
Colors of her choice
I pinch myself
Her picks I've no voice
Awake I know
Female at play
Grisly gruesome
Halloween's today

Oh dear a ghastly dream. Wake to a better day

Dreaming a costume? Dreaming a fear? Dreaming a hint?
ReplyDeleteWOW. I'm glad she's next to YOUR door!! Loved your rhyme, Jim.
ReplyDelete"Grisly gruesome" - all ready for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteHopefully just a dream? ...
ReplyDeleteI'm in London right now, and there was this really, really Goth girl who walked by me on the street. I was super sure at first it was a Halloween costume. But, um, no. Your poem made me think of that!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Halloween inspired poem Jim!
ReplyDeleteWhat a chilling nightmare to have about a neighbor. Maybe once Halloween passes so too will the dreams. :::fingers crossed:::
ReplyDeleteLove this, Jim!
ReplyDeleteGreat, dark Halloween poem!
