A Poem ~~ Peace and Right Planting
Straight as an arrow
proud farmer did plant
GPS controled
his rows did not bend
Life equally straight
he went by the Book
Rules he would not bend
fair with clan and foes
While storm clouds hovered
his animals slept
Protectorate he
wolves and warriors bayed
Troubles all around
Right wins big rewards
Sticker from
The Sierra Club
[ok to grab]

Ha! You saw the clouds as harbingers of trouble, I saw them as promise of rain. Both could be right!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you make this a place of order in the midst of everything.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you were saying more than that though: while being steadfast is a virtue, he might have been inflexible in a bad way too. Just my read.
ReplyDeleteThere is order and there is order...Perhaps he has all under control, but maybe not so workable with others. Oh what a mish mash stew we live in these days.
ReplyDeleteI think he likes order but, sometimes the clouds come whether we want them to or not. Trouble is all a round and I hope for happy outcome after this storm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being part of the Muse this week, Jim.
ReplyDeleteControl is a complicated thing. It causes some order and some chaos. The harder you hold on the more someone else feels trapped. Great and unique take on the image Jim!
ReplyDeleteMy rows always seem to bend .... GPS out of synch.
ReplyDeleteA farmer always has one eye on the sky.............hopefully the rain will help things grow.
ReplyDeleteEven the storm clouds seemed menacing here as the watchful, fastidious farmer waits. This made me ponder… I like that.
ReplyDeleteGPS controlled rows which don't bend... That's an image I didn't see until you put it in my mind... Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeletethe invisible lines of right and wrong no gps can track ... funny the first time I wrote gps it came out lower case god.. a slip of the pen ?? ... great poem
