A Story Poem for Monday

Ruins of a castle,
the ghosts of times long past

They'll haunt you going in
their ancestors will growl

And it'll be sad there
You'll wish you hadn't gone

I was in there one time
sickened by what I found

Mummified in his chair
Uncle Nick bound in chains

  1. Now THAT would be a slow and tortured death. Even more horrible to know it really happened. Some humans can be so barbaric, and it seems we havent evolved much.

  2. What a terrible end... I wonder if there is any rest for such a soul.

  3. Yikes! This is incredibly dark and well written, Jim.

  4. Curiously I went to Vaux-le-Vicomte castle over sixty years ago and Nick wasn't on show there then! He must have voted against the EU.
