A Saturday Flash Poem

Eli Edward Evangelidis (2018)
Used with Permission

Into the Garden

Descendant of Eve
Inhabits the Garden

But only at night
In she sneaks picks the lock

God's lock sealing tight
Until this lass did match

With God's wild friends play
Play till Morning rouses

God's perfect Garden
His rule breached one more time

  1. So this is how Eve lets her hair down. Who knew the honkeytonk was just outside Eden!

  3. You've gotta be slick to get away with it!
I always thought Eve got a bad rap.

  4. I take this as someone other than Eve as you write "descendant" but either way... to break into the Garden of Eden... I don't know, my Catholic self is a bit horrified :)

  5. Eve never was just a pretty face, Jim, and rules are made to be broken!

  6. I hummed Girls Just Wanna Have Fun while reading this. Eve wants to be the one who walks in the sun and moonlight.

  7. I'm sure it was a great choice in the end... this is how life is born.
