Senior Citizen Concerns -- A fun little Whirligig poem

The old mayor

It has been rumored, our wise old mayor,
he is beyond all hope of repair
Unless his steps cease their naughty paths

He must close the road to the brothels
Never, ever go that way again

People have not forgotten his sins
Nor will they begin forgiving him

His health in question, sans protection
At his age passion messes his mind

So enter the clinic with hat in hand
No other senior will be seen there

This detour and adventure** must end

- This poem is linked to Sunday's Whirligig: A Dozen Words for Writers (# 35)

 - There you can see others who have written.
 - My dozen words found at the Wirligig are from the poem, "Mayor Harold Washington" by Gwendolyn Brooks are: mayor, beyond, steps, close, never, forgotten, begin, health, age, enter, senior, adventure.
I used them all, in the order presented at the site.

I'm also linked with Marian at The Tuesday Platform, saying,
Please link up a poem of your choice, new or old or whatever you like, and take some time during the week to engage with others who have shared their poems. Hurrah! We look forward to reading and sharing."

Politicians are a rare breed if they are straight honest and sincere. They were before elected into office. Greed will immediately rear its ugly head and in no time they turn out to be 'very clever' with their scheming.
