Pictures of the Dark -- (Fireblossom Friday: Picture This)

 Pictures of the Dark

Have you worried today,
poet's gone dark on us?
Not really the case here,
He might make you smile
Time of snapping was dark

Like ships passing at night
Faint objects we discern
Smudges dot horizon
Far apart in body
And thoughts, foghorns unite

Or like crossing dateline
International Dateline
Night flight, camera aimed
Snapped the picture. All dark
What was gained? Nothing proved

Silliness.  Photos snapped
His pictures of the dark

  1. Cool pictures of the dark, Jim. I especially like the misty ocean liner.

  2. Crossing a date line.. like some magic would happen there.. some invisible border. Alas only in our mind..

  3. Pictures of the dark would seem to be a contradiction in terms, but you made it work very nicely here.

  9. I love this line: "Time of snapping was dark"

I have many "time[s] of snapping" every day.

  10. You remind me of me ~~ attempting photography when light is fading, has faded .. will I ever learn? No. (I did see Just Alice)

  11. Dear poet, I am glad you didn't go dark. Snapping the darkness holds as many memories as light it seems.

  12. a faint light makes all the difference "what was gained" ? Well, it seems like it left quite an impression - personal introspection is always good.
