Great contrast, Jim!
Oh yes, the best and worst of April........
Love the contrast you've shared here.
yes like the month...poignant..
Almost glib in truisms, dear sad April. I guess they should have tried marriage in June.
This makes me think of the robins nest so carefully tended beside our front porch last year. How the robins fussed and labored over it and finally....two blue eggs were nestled inside. Then, somehow they both ended up broken on the ground.
Be it bird or human young love has a tough road....I love the contrast also!!
Awesome comment from Yvonne - it follows up your poem perfectly - entwined to bitterness.
"The flowers died" is a very sad conclusion, Dr Jim :)
Sweet birds and sweet, albeit sad poem. Please tell me the broken bird was able to be mended!
I hope they are back together again and flourish.
Beautiful but sad poem. Nature can be cruel, too.
a bittersweet poem. the contrasts of the 2 stanzas are well brought out.
please try to repair that little bird.
April is so complete. A little bitter and a little sweet.
Good Sunday
Much❤love
Those dead flowers at the end are so very sad...
First stanza so beautiful and hopeful, the second so sad. Too often true.
Mama Zen had great prompts and this one is an amazing contrast ... it's real life! Glad to be back here writing and reading. :)
jim, your poem is both wise and beautiful, and where were twenty years ago when i needed to hear this? =) well written my friend
I loved the turn at the end.
