The Big Change

.

The Big Change

I called you all together
some changes are to be made

For eons you guys coasted
never much energy spent

Pull up your sleeves, boots go on
please don't blame it on the tilt

Winter, ice and snow won't do
greening in, Spring, share your wealth

Autumn, stop blaming the Fall
Summer, spread your heat around

(The seasons have a new boss
who was high up in the banks)

And don't blame it on the moon

Notes:
1.  I remember when cabinet members were appointed from business cronies and political campaign contributors when technical savvy, people caring, and other knowledge bases were important and different for each position (i.e. a banker guru for NASA's administrator, etc).
2.  Snow scenes I photographed are from Main Street of Tekamah, Nebraska.  That is the town where I graduated from high school.

  1. Wow, for some reason I had the urge to post winter snow photos too... and in a sense I did blame it on the moon :-) A very interesting concept and poem, Jim

  2. For some reason I have no desire to go anywhere near the snow and have just booked a holiday on the equator. Blame it on the sun.

  4. For us having only monsoon changes with the hot sun and torrential rain, all at the same time, snow is a fascination. Wonderful pic and wonderful write Dr Jim!

  7. Your photos are beautiful, but I have no desire to see snow....Change comes whether we like it or not...you have written beautifully of it.

  8. If you have any influence over the seasons, Jim (just hopin') we really need rain. Most of Alberta is getting rain tonight, but not here.
    Love your photos.

  9. What a cool concept! I wish I had thought of calling in the seasons for a serious chat.

  10. Loved the idea, Jim, but, just coming off another depression, the sight - the mere thought - of winter made my teeth chatter!

I don't follow politics in Canada, but I think I get your point. Amy

  11. Jim, this was awesome! A great piece of writing, and I absolutely loved what you had to say! It commanded my attention, it flowed well, and yes, it would be so nice if someone new took charge of that whole change of seasons affair and worked things out a bit! A truly great write for Two Shoes Tuesday and those other great places too! :-)

  12. What I loved about this was telling Autumn to stop blaming the fall! That evoked a big guffaw! Just leave the seasons alone as the last thing we need is mans' interference...or have we got it already?

  13. I liked your poem about the seasons! I also like those snow pictures. Unfortunately, we don't ever to get see many of those down here. Did you ever live in a place that regularly gets snow? : )

  14. Someday hubby and I will travel to someplace warm during the winter months. Yes we will. That will be a nice change for us.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺
