One Single Impression: 2013

.

2013

Two thousand and thirteen, it came to soon
It's a year that I have dreaded for years

A birthday year for me which makes me old
No fun one like I had ten years before

Death isn't the end I know, I'm ready
But please God, could I have some more good years

The pictures:  Top is the golf course in our back yard, taken from our back porch this afternoon using the X3 telephoto lens setting on my little pocket Sony; the side picture is of my 2013 Tauck travel calendar which shows a picture of the Harbor Bridge at Sydney, Australia.

Mrs. Jim and I rode in a train over this bridge on January 12, 2013, while visiting there.  I am posting here more pictures and text about our holiday spent cruising on the Diamond Princess ship along the east coast of New Zealand and then over to Australia (Next Thursday will be "K" Day with Kangaroos).

  1. It's a fair request. I have as much authority as god(but not as many believers) and I say 'Yes!'.

  3. Considering that 2012 was supposed bring the Doomsday, I consider every year from 2013 onwards a bonus year in Earth's life and also mine :)

  6. Definitely! Count your age as the years you've survived till now! And since you have survived through all that (lots of downs more than the ups), you will survive even more years to come! Enjoy them! :D

  10. Tonight, my daughter asked how old I was. I said I didn't remember because I stopped counting. And that is true, I had to do the math.

  11. Keep moving and doing things like that trip and it will happen. A sad refrain, but a great truth. Loved it.
