One Single Impression: Connoisseur

The Connoisseur
knows it all
- - -
connoisseur reports
when judged by its taste alone
a bean is a bean

raving and ranting
epicurean he is
simple beauty missed

One Single Impression using "Connoisseur" as prompt

Notes:
1. Pictured is a pan of baked beans. I thought it was neat to intersperse those large white lima beans, often called butter beans, with the rest. They were mostly taken as I was near the end of the food line.
2. (generally the second definition) Connoisseur: A person of informed and discriminating taste: a connoisseur of fine wines.

  1. Yes Jim, first time I heard the word connoisseur was when I was in college in a literature subject, we discussed someone who makes the best wine as a connoisseur-an expert, but of late, it became a literal word which could also mean someone who excels or is best in what he does is a connoisseur!

I like your take, looks so yummy...and of course, the one who can tell the difference of a small n big beans and maybe how it taste is a connoisseur of food!

Nice one Jim, suddenly felt famished with the look of the pic that came with it..gotta go have lunch! :)

  2. Yes, opinions of experts is a subject of mind. It is about analysis, comparisons, methods, styles etc.

Heart has its own way of looking at art.

What Amity means is someone who excels and not one who opinionates.

  3. I like your words, "when judged only by its taste a bean is a bean", yeah, a connoisseur is a person can see through the surface and find something hide behind. Nice words, though I don't like to eat beans. :)
    Have a nice week end.

  7. I agree, sometimes the connoisseur misses the simple joy of things through all the analysis. Almost sounds like an engineer! Your picture is making me hungry Jim. When I was in the UK, we would have beans and toast for breakfast. Have a good day. Rob.

  14. Hi Jim,

This is another unique and humorous post. The judge is quite a character. I enjoyed the creative writing process here.
