"Skywatch" (my second)

Another 'Sky Pollution' photo for today. BK must think it has to be this high to be seen from the freeway. And to stay ahead of the competition regarding sign height. I'm so glad for Lady Bird Johnson's efforts, too bad she couldn't have seen this one here in the Eisenhower town.

Found at Abilene, Kansas, while visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library & Eisenhower Museum (
link) on the way to Blogstock '08 at Nebraska on July 3 to 6 along with some of our blogging friends.

  2. I love the fluffy clouds, but the sign does take away from that beautiful sky. Just saying. Have a great day Jim. :)

Great clouds...did you hear that clouds are filled with microorganisms ?

  7. Welcome back to Sky Watch. Nice clouds and sky. Guess the Abilene Burger King was obeying the Old West dictum "Reach for the Sky, Pardner."

  8. Just remember, cough, cough, it's advertising that keeps us spending. And, cough, cough, we need to spend to keep the economy moving ever upwards.

Well, it really didn't take away from the beauty of the clouds. ;-)

  9. It is sad, Jim, isn't it what we insist on putting into our sky. You have captured a lovely potpurri of clouds.

  21. I lived in Conroe for eleven years. It is hard for me to picture Houston as dry. It seems it was always wet when I was there. Great SWF entry even with the gaudy tall sign. Thanks for stopping by Pappy's. Pappy

  28. I liked you "play on words"... "Large size" and "Super Size"... This is my first time to join skywatch, it's great! How was the Eisenhower museum? I've been to Clinton in Arkansas and in fact, my picture of the "full moon" on sky watch was taken while on our trip to Arkansas to site see!

  30. Great shot, Jim! And yes don't they have a nerve sticking their signs way up over the landscape and into the sky so people will see from the highway? I hate that! :(

  31. I like it. The sign can't take anything away from those pretty clouds!

  32. What a beautiful shade of blue and white puffy clouds. Like that you used the sign to point out it's detracting from the view. It's my second SWF too!
