Another 'Sky Pollution' photo for today. BK must think it has to be this high to be seen from the freeway. And to stay ahead of the competition regarding sign height. I'm so glad for Lady Bird Johnson's efforts, too bad she couldn't have seen this one here in the Eisenhower town.
Found at Abilene, Kansas, while visiting the Eisenhower Presidential Library & Eisenhower Museum (link) on the way to Blogstock '08 at Nebraska on July 3 to 6 along with some of our blogging friends.

Pretty sky... I'm doing skywatch this week too but not posting until this afternoon sometime. Thanks for visiting Raven's Nest for WW.
ReplyDeleteI love the fluffy clouds, but the sign does take away from that beautiful sky. Just saying. Have a great day Jim. :)
ReplyDeleteYou gave me a fright there for a minute...thought I had slept through Thursday.
ReplyDeleteGreat clouds...did you hear that clouds are filled with microorganisms ?
Skywatch Friday sounds like a great deal of fun...I think Nessa does that also.
Thanks for you BIG!!!!Birthday greeting :)
Hi Jim,
ReplyDeleteYou found some nice puffy little clouds. Those signs can really be an eyesore!!
That sky pollution drives me nuts, too, Jim. Hungry people will find their way...
ReplyDeleteReally nice sky, despite the sign.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I hear, Blogstock '08 was a blast!
The clouds are pretty, anyway!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty sky!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to Sky Watch. Nice clouds and sky. Guess the Abilene Burger King was obeying the Old West dictum "Reach for the Sky, Pardner."
ReplyDeleteJust remember, cough, cough, it's advertising that keeps us spending. And, cough, cough, we need to spend to keep the economy moving ever upwards.
ReplyDeleteWell, it really didn't take away from the beauty of the clouds. ;-)
Pretty clouds and a full skyview. Nice.
ReplyDeleteann at varying seasons
It is sad, Jim, isn't it what we insist on putting into our sky. You have captured a lovely potpurri of clouds.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on those awful signs...
ReplyDeleteNah, the sign is fine... I looked beyond it... you captured the sky beautifully, Jim.

ReplyDeleteLovely skies! Here in the southeast these are everywhere as high as they will go.
ReplyDeleteLovely fluffy white clouds. It's been so dull here i have forgotten what they looked like. Thanks for reminding me.

Beautiful clouds for SWF photo. Lovely weather. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteJim: Nice Sky with the BK sign as a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Conroe for eleven years. It is hard for me to picture Houston as dry. It seems it was always wet when I was there. Great SWF entry even with the gaudy tall sign. Thanks for stopping by Pappy's. Pappy

beautiful sky!
ReplyDeleteI liked you "play on words"... "Large size" and "Super Size"... This is my first time to join skywatch, it's great! How was the Eisenhower museum? I've been to Clinton in Arkansas and in fact, my picture of the "full moon" on sky watch was taken while on our trip to Arkansas to site see!

Pretty sky...in spite of the sign.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Jim! And yes don't they have a nerve sticking their signs way up over the landscape and into the sky so people will see from the highway? I hate that! :(
ReplyDeleteI like it. The sign can't take anything away from those pretty clouds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful shade of blue and white puffy clouds. Like that you used the sign to point out it's detracting from the view. It's my second SWF too!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the kinds of photos I like. Wonderful picture.
