Easter Bunny
“The soul is healed by being with children.”—Fyodor Dostoevsky The Easter Bunny is for children Now the little guy is tittled "him" why do we make IT a male, hopping male We've made HIM a rabbit too The children love him, he brings them candies puts it in a pretty basket one thev"e made for him We can help the rabbit The children must go to bed To bed before he'll come parents stay up to help Come early morning children, Children rush to see Has he come, peek around, Yes, he's come and gone Chocolate eggs galore Those eggs for them to eat! That's how it works Adults must "believe." . . My machine is on the blink. Won't put the print properly
Hi Jim, tech troubles are annoying. What you wrote reminds me of Easter egg hunts with my children when they were young. One photo I have is of my son, who had such a sweet tooth, SLIDING across the back yard on his belly, to get some candy. One other time, we did the hunt up on a mountain near our house and then I forgot where I hid the eggs. LOL.

The Easter Bunny is for children
Now the little guy is tittled "him"
why do we make IT a male,
hopping male
We've made HIM a rabbit too The children love him, he brings them candies puts it in a pretty basket one thev"e made for him
We can help the rabbit
The children must go to bed
To bed before he'll come
parents stay up to help
Come early morning children,
Children rush to see Has he come, peek around,
Yes, he's come and gone
Chocolate eggs galore Those eggs for them to eat!
That's how it works Adults must "believe."

Ah you caught the spirit of fun for the children at easter
I love the enjoyment and pleasure you describe- Jae
It's a delight to read the lines and also to think over the 'why's' that appear in the beginning.
Very clever. Good fun.
How helpful parents are to the Easter Bunny! And it was such fun. You ask why like the children might, and then make us see the scene.
Lovely quote from Dostoevsky, and a sweet, fun Easter poem to warm our hearts..
As Sherry mentioned, the photos ALL of them in folders stashed away in a cabinet. I find them from time to time especially around holidays ... remembering all of the truly amazing times we had. Especially looking for those plastic eggs filled with jelly beans, and the occasional quarter!!!!!
A lovely warm poem and of course we believe in the Easter Bunny. Imagine not believing in the Easter Bunny ,Santa, the Tooth Fairy and if you don't eat your crusts you wont get curly hair:) This is how you make poets:)
This is delightful, and I love the quote!
