Tenderness - Do you know anyone in politics who fits the definition?  Hard to think of one, I know.  In fact I believe politicians cause inflammation, especially if they win and are in office, with lots of power.

Well, lets approach it from another angle - do you know anyone in our government who fits that definition?  You should find a few here.

I'll try to help, what is the mission of the FEMA -- U.S. government agency designed to help folk recover from disaster.  FEMA is to manage our emergencies so the name says.

But then I knew a very kind young lady who graduated from college and was employed by FEMA, she was the kindest.  I cannot imagine her ever grouching at a client.

Child Welfare -- Help and rescue the children from various harms, in and out of the family situation.

Child Abuse is the most dastardly crime I can ever think of, poor defenseless children don't have a chance.  I didn't and still cannot forgive the abuser, even though he is long deceased.  If I forgot perhaps I would forgive.  One never forgets abuse.

I am quoting from an unnamed source, written from a lady who really meant it, it was listed in her list of desires:
"I desire a kinder, more peaceful world, less divided by things like politics and religion.  I wish we didn't have either one of those things in this world - they are both the root of much suffering and I believe we'd be better off without them, and with more acceptance and tolerance and love."

I'm all for the riddance of politics but I believe that God is the author of "Love".  I'll stop there for this post, just as she stopped with the word, "love".

With these lines I'll stop
Do I rant?  Well I should, loud
Get on my high horse

I completely understand where you are coming from in this poem. One is impelled to rant at times.

I can understand this completely- compassion and tenderness is in every one of us, but we destroy it when acting together

Perhaps it is power itself which ultimately corrupts.Food for thought here Jim.

Very true Jim, whether we work together in a group (like the rescuers rescuing humans and animals in Houston) or as an individual (like the businessman who opened his warehouse furniture store so that people would have plenty of dry beds, chairs, sofas, etc. upon which to rest and relax from the business of survival, where they can get dry, have food, sleep). I believe it is up to us to carry kindness with us every day, not the government's responsibility. It would be nice but it is a business, the government. I also believe in God being the author of love. In the book of Zephaniah (which means hidden in eternity) it goes into great deal of detail about how much God loves us all, how he delights in all of us. I like your take on kindness and tenderness. I enjoyed reading this a great deal.

There is so much awful going on in the world it is hard to come up with a coherent thought sometimes. We all need to rant.

Yes, I love this. It seems awful gets the headlines, but Houston is showing the power of the best in humans. Thank you so much for you kind inquiry about how I came through Harvey.

A rant is sometimes the only way to calm yourself. This is a good one, Jim. Too bad Advil doesn't work for inflammatory politicians.

I hope you are okay in your part of Texas and that there will be relief for others soon. Take care. K.
