Micro Poetry ~~ The Day
The Day When
Her bones turn to dark emeralds
Her blood will turn to fine Merlot
Emeralds, gold, wine undid her

- Kerry's words for us, "Today is the day we put the "mini' back into the Sunday Mini-Challenge, and return to the option of form poetry. The object of this challenge is to write a poem in no more than 10 lines (but you may write in fewer than 10 lines all the way down to a single American sentence). Choose your own form or write in free verse, if preferred... our frame of reference is "Dark Emeralds" - from the final line of this poem by James Wright" again at the Toads link above.

Her blood will turn to fine Merlot..
A wonderful image, Jim.. Thanks for the many shades of green.
I feel the blood as wine being almost like a vampire story.
Beautiful!❤️ I especially love "Her blood will turn to fine Merlot" ❤️
What luscious imagery!
brilliantly powerful ending - lush and rich - and yet something darker, foreboding - a fable like feeling to this
Dark, mysterious tale beautifully told, Jim.
Sipping life by the glass (or the bottle) can have such terrible effects...
