a Poem, "Caught between a rock and ...."

Picture is Public Domain from Wikipedia (link)
James Gillray, Britannia between Scylla and Charybdis (1793)

What to do, need I say

There was a man who had three wives
Two were a treat to look at, but
Living with them was different

Names changed, protect the innocent
Sylvia was good at loving
But a nag in the off season

Charlie Anne could cook up a storm
Constant chatter shattered ear drums
Helen loved, cooked and sewed.  A doll

Notes:

 - 1) Magaly wants us to write a three verse, nine line poem, about a mythical person about whom we have read.  Or 313 words, mine is 63 words.

 - 2) "Scylla and Charybdis were mythical sea monsters noted by Homer; Greek mythology sited them on opposite sides of the Strait of Messina between Sicily and the Italian mainland. Scylla was rationalized as a rock shoal (described as a six-headed sea monster) on the Italian side of the strait and Charybdis was a whirlpool off the coast of Sicily (more, from Wikipedia)..."

  1. What to do, indeed...

Well, I figure that since this is supposed to be happening in the modern world, the man will soon stop dreaming and realize that he has to cook his own food and that all the wives he thinks he has are probably dolls.

    I couldn't help myself *cackle*.
