A 'Real Poem' -- Truths, where I don't often go

Tall girls make me

tall girls make me nervous
they really do. Make me nervous
what is it with them that makes me  this way

you have no idea how it makes me feel
me being with them
it isn't parts they've got, nor what they haven't

it's them
closed elevators escalate

like a tall one who wanted me to join  mensa with her
intangible

it's her mind-all their minds-i guess-grows them tall

i wish i were a tall girl

I think being nervous can be a good thing in some ways. It all depends on how we act on it... Love that last line.

Ha. This is a very interesting poem, Jim! Super quirky but in a very kind of memorable way--and it is especially interesting the way that you switch from their height--I love the elevator thing by the way--to their brains--and one feels that it is worrisome to have a brain so much above you, and perhaps to have a sense of the traditionally touted order of things reversed--then the morphing into a type of envy is so human--anyway, I really enjoyed reading this. Thanks for participating. k.

Tall girls can also be just as nervous about their towering position. I'm watching my daughter grow, and grow, and grow...and praying she doesn't disown her little mama.

Tall girls literally look down on you. Hank is just as nervous. Would rather hug a girl looking down into her eyes. She should be looking up to the sky and able to position her pouted lips waiting. She should not be allowed the time instead of patting Hank's pate with boredom.

Hank

Interesting... I find confident men are really the only ones who can "handle" tall women. Not sure what that says about this poem ... (sorry)
