One Single Impression: Hesitation (Monet's home pictured)
He came around back
and rang at her gate.
Oh my love you're here
please do come right in.
Hesitated step
still not in the gate.
Yes, yes, lift the latch
you silly boy you.
Through the gate he stepped
closed it tight behind.
That's the good lad now,
come, Daddy is out.
Don't knock, the neighbors
will hear the dogs' bark.
Door was at the back
up the steps he went.
Halted on the stair
timid now she was.
Hesitant again,
our lad turned and ran.
End Act One. Now a short intermission.

What a beautiful stage play, hesitation well portrayed...:)
Oh these little kids seemed to want to venture into some prohibited acts...:)
Very nice and exciting use of the prompt JIm, the girl was just as naive.
Or was it a teenage experience? I would like to guess it is so!
Mine is just up Jim!!!
Have a great week ahead.
A wonderful piece. I guess they thought the intermission was needed.
Truth or dare?
Jim, you got me thinking about a couple of moments like that in my own past. Mostly in my youth, when insecurity overpowers most other emotions. Great imagery in your poem too. I can see the young lad heading up to the house in your picture.
I loved your take on this prompt...you caught the act of hesitation in a very clear way. Wonderful!
Youth caught in the act of...fear and hesitation. Great one!
I love this ...so sweet and true..!
Innocence wins another round!
This is such a fun little play you've written here. I love the hesitant boy. Nicely written.
What fun! Glad for the hesitation. I'd never seen Monet's home. Thanks!
Oh I hope you are going to continue this in the future! You had my total attention and I want more!
Lovely hesitation tango.
Wonderful Jim. It sounds like you. I wonder what will be in the next part?
Melanie

You are a man of many skills.
This one I particularly admire.
From Felisol
I can feel the hesitation!
Such a tender chapter! And what a lovely setting for the story to unfold.
