I am running away, I'll go to stay.
I am going to play, don't hold me back.
You can come along or I'll go alone.
I've done it before, I'm running away.
I am running away to find new friends.
I am going to where it's warm all year.
You can find me there and stay I don't care.
I've done it before, I'll do it again.
I am running away, I won't come back.
I am going where a new life I'll find.
You can join in then but I'm going now.
I'm doing it again, going to stay.

Thank you to my daughter Susie for her nice poem on 'Running' posted at One Single Impression. She filled in for me when I was running short of time.
Hi Dr Jim =) Is it fine with you if I lock my blog in about 24 hours' time? Please request to read my blog which will be approved immediately. It's just a one-time requirement as part of the formality of a locked blog. I value your continued comments and advice very much. I'm very sorry for the inconveniences caused. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe way we all feel, at times.
ReplyDeletei know the feeling...i love it when its warm all year too!!
ReplyDeleteRunning and going to a new life. I know the feeling well, having done it a few times for work. Unfortunately not to a warmer place though with all the snow around here, Texas sounds nice. I head to Mexico tomorrow so will feel the warmth for about a week. Thanks for the nice prompt this week Jim. I enjoyed your poem.
ReplyDeleteAh, wanderlust! Would love to drive off for the warm and sunny places.
ReplyDeleteI hate the Delhi summer. It is horrible!
ReplyDeleteleaves clinging to me like limpets
I've had that feeling in the past. Great words.
ReplyDeleteHi Jim ...your poem and Susie´s are sweet ...!!
ReplyDeleteBoy I sure feel like this- unfortunately, a lot! I sometimes really wonder what that would be like. I always tease my family that I could never run away- I have too much stuff. Great prompt...and your daughter's poem is excellent too (she has your talent!)
ReplyDeleteI love the rhyme and rhythm in this piece. Nicely written.
ReplyDeleteI always want to run away myself.

ReplyDeleteI'm laughing and I shouldn't be. You sound like my J every time it snows. He's going! He's had it! There are places where there is no snow! I love the cadence and power of your poem.
ReplyDeleteThen have her to run away with you!
