One Single Impression: Insomnia (an acrostic)

I N S O M N I A

I can not sleep
Not after five
Seven's ideal
Or even eight
My life's a mess
Nothing will help
I nod at noon
Always awake

  1. Well worked.
I can't decide if I have Insomnia or I just don't need the sleep. Either way, I've never needed an alarm clock.

  2. Very cute acrostic Jim!

It comes with age i guess, of not retiring early to bed and of getting up so early although you want to extend your sleeping hours! But i guess could not be quantified as insomnia...

    The inevitable.

  3. It seems the older we get, the more difficult it is to sleep. You expressed this very well with your acrostic poem!

  4. Clever acrostic, Jim. I't never fun to lie awake in the dark and fall asleep over lunch....

  5. Well done, Jim. Just exactly the feeling. I wish somehow Mr. Insomnia could shore us up for the whole day after the sleepless night.

  6. Oh, I know that "nodding at noon". I like the acrostic form for this - concise and to the point.

  7. Nice acrostic Jim, I liked it. Between being a light sleeper and lots of international travel (12-13 time zones to Asia), sleeping can be a real challenge. And while I have "proven" beer doesn't help much, I try to take it all in stride. I guess that's why my take on the prompt is more peaceful than stressful. I appreciate your comments. ZZZZzzzzz.

  9. The "M" sounds just like me. A mess, especially when it comes to sleeping! Very clever.

  14. Oh I hate when Sleep makes the decision when to rear it's head! Well done! In response to your comment on mine...I have been writing about my sister for awhile- she is my "muse (lol)" She has caused an irreparable rift in the family and things will never be the same between us again. In regard to haiku bones- maybe in the summer...I can barely make the comments on OSI and I feel that is so important in blogging. I would never want to post and not comment. Have a wonderful weekend!
