One Single Impression: Childhood Memories

Childhood Memories

memories here of my childhood
farm boy trying to recall
I can not remember much

in our model "A" Ford coupe
riding on the package shelf
on to grandma's place we go

while my mom her work not done
washing little family's clothes
played and played in grandma's grove

sitting there out on the porch
exploring some newly found
loving all my grandma's help

when new car we were to get
grandma heard it first from me
whipping from my pop I got

mom and dad were shucking corn
grandpa's trailer trailed behind
for me playing in the corn

memories these of my childhood
preschool no more I recall
till six can't remember much

all there is for you to know

The same goes for my poetry attempts (don't know how, but I enjoy it!).

  5. I miss both my grandmas. Looks like we came from the same ilk. Following the crops. Have a great day Jim. :)

  10. Jim, interesting phrasing there. Good memories mixed with bad. I suppose we all have some of those. I've had my hide tanned a few times too!
