I'm Awake Now
I am awake now,
no more in my dreams
A cold day awaits
Sitting on the edge of my bed
Still dark
only the moon gives light
three minute discourse
You go first
no you go, no you go
I went in the middle of the night
okay I'll go, don't you puddle the floor
Oh Moon, o moon
Please send me another dream
Sitting the edge of my bed
A cold day awaits

ReplyDeleteMay your day be warmer than expected!
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you eat before going to bed!
ReplyDeleteSome nice looping echoes here, Jim 👏
ReplyDeleteI wish you restful sleep
ReplyDeleteThe picture you paint with words is an emotion we've all felt in one way or another. Beautifully expressed.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to have dreams before waking up and facing the realities of the world!
ReplyDeleteSend me another dream but, first crawl back under the comfy covers. Stay warm
ReplyDeletenature calls right in middle of a lovely dream???
ReplyDeleteI am smiling, Jim. I wish you a warm, wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI wish warmer days and nights with beautiful dreams. I understand the distress of certain dreams , so poignant.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe...
ReplyDeleteOn a dark, cold night, moonlight slips through a parting in the curtain and settles in the middle of the room — a puddle of light this time.
