Young Artist's Pleasure
As I do my daily walk I see sidewalk art the preschooler children have drawn and colored. Not obnoxious graffiti mind you.
Perhaps to most pedestrians it is but to the young artist it is drawing a piece with happy meaning.
Happy show and tell. People and friends, ones they know. We may not recognize who it is. Look for a name, description, or title.
Playmates and parents and family they like to draw. Or it might be a pet of theirs, could also be yours or mine.
A present for rewarding these young artists? A box of sidewalk crayons would be lovely.

Hi Jim, I love your attitude, and thanks so much for sharing this. I am so glad to have found you again! We used to follow each other's blogs when I was at Linda's Peaceful Place, years ago. I had no computer for more than 7 years and because of the amount of time that had passed, I lost access to my old blog.
ReplyDeleteI started a new blog at the end of March at Linda's Relaxing Lair (link is in my profile). I have missed you, your posts on your blog, and your kind comments on my blog.
I wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you, that I have started blogging again and where you can find me.
Take good care of yourself!

'Twasn't Rommy, it was me! I'm glad you found the prompt inspiring, and I love what it inspired you to. The writing is so joyous, and so are the children's drawings. Worth celebrating, for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective to have.
ReplyDeleteColleen, I liked reading and seeing your birthday party. You did it up well.
ReplyDeleteI cannot leave comments though, I cannot sign into the format that you and some others use. I am writing and commenting with my cellphone only, it does fine with the bogger and those who allow ananonymous comments.
But I'm happy you came here, please leave comments. Thank you.

Oh Yes!! A gift for the children ONLY a man with your unique perspective on life can find ... and gift!
ReplyDeleteA charming observation of the world about us and the treasures it can bring - Jae
ReplyDeleteI love children's chalk drawings on sidewalks too, and often find traces of games they've played too: Hopscotch, Os and Xs, Hangman. It's somehow so reassuring, and calming, and peaceful, and innocent...
ReplyDeleteCrayons for the young artists is a lovely gesture!
ReplyDeleteThey can colour the world! Time for more creativity :)
Children learn what they are taught & encouraged to do.
Wish all children are taught to be creative this way and not to be trained with guns and killing...
A lovely look at children and colors.
