A Sunday Muse poem -- Man or Beast

"Forest Traffic" Digital Art.    by Pulkit Kudiwal

Laws of the wild

In the jungles
In the forests
Arctics and the
deserts as well

And

Laws of the man

Ten commandments
First law of man
Then made civil
From guns to cars
Control the man

Will the twain mix

Animals tamed
or men go wild
Buying pet food
or get your gun
 _ _ _

Road maps on paper or a GPS, our youngest grand-daughter has been fine with these since before she was four.  The photo on the left shows her when we were looking for the Downtown Baptist Church in London,  U.K, she has become a regular backseat driver lady now.  She is eleven now.

Note:  Carrie's nice poem of the animals finding their ways without GPS or Maps
reminded me of our granddaughter using a map in London of which I posted in 2020, https://jimmiehov.blogspot.com/2020/02/the-letter-h-weekend-roundup-and.html?m=0

  1. I think humans have already gone wild, judging from the evening news. Smiles. I hope what animals who remain can find some safe places to survive in.

  3. I will never buy a gun, so pet food it must be!!! (The world has gone crazy.)

  4. I think many humans have gone wild, it can be scary.

On another note, I love that the granddaughter can read an actual map. Many have no clue how to read one. GPS is built into everything now.

  5. That's...something to think about. The wilderness seems much closer now, despite the bulldozers and the expanding suburbs.

  6. Thinks:- Animals don't need maps - theirs are inbuilt from birth! Pity about the humans... :-)

  7. Man has already gone out of control. Sometimes I feel that a pandemic helps the nature to bloom when man is pushed behind the doors. You poem has such a powerful tone, Jim.

  8. Animals tamed
    or men go wild

They can change places in reality. Yes, Dr Jim! Often Man can be the more destructive element following the change, unfortunately!

  9. Humans . . . individually brilliant in so many ways. Collectively . . . just stupid.

  10. Interesting take on prompt, Jim. I’m rooting for the animals.
