"Natural Woman" Digital Collage Art "
Covid Creations" by Susie Clevenger
Natural Woman
When does a Natural
Woman hang it all up
When does she don high
heels and lipstick
Rouge on her cheeks and
eye lashes colored silver,
or black
But deep down what are
her feelings Did she really
hang it on a tree 'cause
she was the Natural
Woman still
You'll know her character
if you knew her when she
was a girl, a little girl. Or
sometimes a teen.
And then it comes out
when she is serious,
sometimes when she
plays. Our Natural
Woman is a girl at heart,
the one she had from the
start, no matter how she
looks or what she
pretends to be.
Natural Woman is the
woman slash girl that
you'll love.
Old duds hung on a tree
New Woman will not be
Time comes she will be re-
leased, sprung from gilded cage

much love...
"Natural Woman is the / woman slash girl that / you'll love." For sure!
ReplyDeleteLove the play on natural & being able to know who you are.
ReplyDeleteThis is true beauty Jim! A lovely write my friend!
ReplyDeleteHow true! We are, after all, our own child, at the heart of us. Brilliant, Jim.
ReplyDeleteWe lose our natural selves as we "grow up." Thankfully, a few of us don't! :) Love it.
ReplyDeleteI would like to believe I am still 'a natural woman / girl that
ReplyDeletefriends love.' Happy Sunday!
I tend to be more at ease as a natural woman but, sometimes I have to put on the heels. Playing dress up is something I guess we never out grow.
ReplyDeleteThat girl is still inside, no matter the age. Glad you know that, Jim. Once I watched my grandma, at 90, sashay a few dance steps, smiling, across the room. And I SAW the young woman she once was, still alive in there, shining.
ReplyDeleteI wish her such respite on a regular basis.

Absolutely true.
ReplyDeleteMs Jim will like this one! Every woman is a girl at heart I think.
ReplyDeleteThe little girl in the natural woman guides as much as she provides memories. Love this interpretation of my art!
