One Single Impression: Change

.
Hey you

Change

There's time still, save your body and your soul
Body's rusting, the Devil has his hold

Time to change your way of living has come
Got to give up smoking and cussing now

Smoking will lead to cancer of the lung
Holes in your throat and wallet soon will come

Cussing's not the unforgivable sin
God hates it though, commandant number three

Yes, you

  1. funny..humorous rather..although i just hope it is not interpreted in a moralistic manner..would rob the charm of the poem.

  2. No where enough time for me to save my soul and the body is spiralling downhill depressingly fast.

  9. There's a irony Mickey behind the plastic shell here. I love how you take humor and irony, mix and pour. Jim, one note: The Third Commandment varies according to one's faith path.

Jewish, Orthodox, Anglican, general Protestant, and others say #3 is "Do not take the name of God in vain"; however, Lutherans and Catholics say it's "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy." Ironically (!), this little Christian Left girl thinks the second translation fits this picture, in all, more fully, since Sundays are now shopping days, days for Disney, etc.

I'm not a Biblical literalist, nor do I want to return to "Blue Laws" that kept everything closed on Sundays, just thought I'd point that out and let you know how I felt! Great job, and I loved the M&Ms on the xylophone, like the People Mover... Amy
