(I washed the dog today)
I washed the dog today
It's raining in Florida, bad
My old lady's down in the back
The dog was happy
The Florida people wept
The Little Lady may recover
Used D a s h laundry soap and, saving water, now to wash my Little Lady's feet

I love the dog's expression as you wash its armpit.
ReplyDeleteWashing your lady's feet with the same brush you used on the dog? I like the practicality of that.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteJim, "my old lady" used to mean your woman in hippiespeak, ha ha, you know that. So "my old lady's down in the back," I thought maybe your spouse/partner had spinal trouble. Made this even funnier when I saw the comment about Dash!! I remember that brand... and now I understand the picture.
ReplyDeleteTalk about dense. Densely yours, and peace to you, Amy
I remember Dash laundry detergent. Do they still make it? I don't think so. Good one Jim.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day. ☺
... and the dog promptly went out and rolled and the old lady accomplished... what? Ha ha. Fun poem.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile....a clean dog can't wait until it can make all the effort dissolve in a roll in the dust.
ReplyDeleteFun. Enjoyed. It's looking at the concrete images and seeing it in a different context and it's own sake that I really appreciate. I think at the end of the day, I want the plain to help me understand the complex. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is so fun and playful Jim. This photo is terrific as well.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile, Jim. All's well that ends well:)
ReplyDeleteI would say this was quaint poetry. Dash laundry detergent hadn't come to my mind. I was too tired and not enough time to do this prompt this week. Even when I did "promptless" it was because "dash" did nothing for me. Thanks for the nudge. I forget to go back after a few days to catch up on things I've missed. Please excuse my memory!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful......
ReplyDeleteuniverse will not hand it over to you
We always like the cooling rainy days, Dr Jim :)
