Moon, Stars, World ~~ a Sunday Micro-poem Challenge

Moonlight Escapade

We strolled along the walkway, Dog and I
Full moon blooming, shining bright stars smiled down
I gave my bloody howl, Dog howled as well

I was howling, tribute bright yellow moon
Dog howling at me, new experience
Watch our fangs, see them grow, the Dog's and mine

The better to bite you with my dear miss
Drops of blood I'll draw, Dog will have no part
The stars?  They cried out to bloody Heaven

Kerry stated, "The object of this challenge is to write a poem in no more than 10 lines" with the frame of reference to be "And the Moon and the Stars and the World."

The Pictures are of our "Moon Jar" as we call it, officially named by the Artist as "Earth Rise".  We bought this jar from the artist and creator, Helen Garriott, then wife of astronaut Owen Garriott, at her Kemah, Texas, studio. (Working as an aerospace engineer, I had the honor of giving Dr. Garriott his first Skylab simulation experience, a hands on orienttion tour of our Mockup Skylab module.)

The 'knob' on the lid is Earth as seen from the Moon, below.  The jar is about 7 1/2 inches high, and 6 1/2 inches in diameter.  See the pictures for detail of the footprints and for the literature [click it twice to make it large enough to read] enclosed inside our jar.  We also have a "Sun Jar" which sits on our coffee table. "You can't always get what you want" ~~ a 226 Word Flash Poem

Did you ever ask

Did you ever ask Santa,
What I want for Christmas is ...
Santa says his nice things and
is hoping dearly that Mom

That Mom or Dad will tell you
Tell you that what you asked for
Isn't right for you, you're young
Much too young for what you asked

This is what Santa wants, "You
can’t always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes, you
might find ...You get what you need."
.

Did you ever ask your Mom
I want a new bicycle
You mom says her nice things, then
Says to you, Go see your Dad

Dad, Mom's tagging you along,
Has a frown on his face
Isn't real happy with your request
Let us fix up your Raleigh

This is what Daddy wants  "You
can’t always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes, you
might find ...You get what you need."
.

You could ask for lots of things
A nice new school car, jewels,
Fine clothing, power at school
But you have so much, really

Have you ask Jesus for your being,
For your place in life, for you
Jesus may not give you these
Instead ask and he'll give you Heaven

Life after death for you.  "You
can’t always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes, you
might find ...You get what you need."

 http://withrealtoads.blogspot.com/2017/02/recycle-saying-poetry-and-flash-fiction.html

Magaly has a list of sayings and she wants us to use the saying but to change or add to it.  I added to "You can’t always get what you want" the next line of the Rolling Stones song, by the title of my first line.  Magaly also wants fairly short line, Flash length, to be shorter than or equal to 313 words.  Mine has 226 words with the title but not the two periods I use for verse spacers.

You can read a nice sermon given by the Pastor of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, 921 Madison Ave, NY NY, on "You can't always get what you want" (includes references to the Rolling Stones song), at this link, https://www.mapc.com/worship/sermons/2012/08/26/you-cant-always-get-what-you-want

The Wall -- a Challenge poem

The wall;
a dream? (a prayer?)

I had a dream last night
President Reagan came
He came to me and said
Donny, tear down that wall

It worked with the Commies
I'll make it work with you
Tear down that wall, or ..
Or go scooting down

Down into the bowels
Into the bowels of Hell
I've visited there, it's
No place to be.  Your choice

It worked with the Commies
Had better work with you.
Please I said, could I just,
Send a Tweet and see what

No Tweets for you, no more
Gorbachev, he had none
To neighbors you've done harm
Irreparable harm

Said Mr. Regan then
To you by God I'm sent,
Mind His will or be burned.
First I'll tweet, this is rigged

This is a dream, you're dead.
It's not a dream, I'm sent
Dead yes, a dozen years
No Tweets, no dream, goodbye

Aaah aah aah ah aah
I'm going dow o own!!!
Goodbye my friend, goodbye
Too many times, no more
