The French like Blue -- MidWeek Blues -- Blue shutters

Especially their shutters. They have been blue for a long, long time.

[large picture] [super sized]

It doesn't seem to make the French feel blue. Well, maybe this is different for the artists, some get real moody or worse.

We found this original in the Lautrec Museum in Albi, France. It is by Paul Cézanne (1839 to 1906) and yes, he was pretty quirky. (
Cézanne Wikipedia link)

In just a lot of his pictures you can see Mont Sainte-Victoire as in this one. It is a mountain in Provence, France. Cézanne can see the whole view of the mountain from his house near Aix-en-Provence. He drew a series of oil paintings about or using his favorite mountain of his.

The blue colour on his mountains is supposed to be an impression of air. I'm not at all knowing what that signifies. Do you?

Even the sky is blue in France, bluer than most of the U.S. except perhaps the Texas skies. Pictured is son, Tim. Tim went with Mrs. Jim and I to Spain, France, Andorra, and Belgium on our Spring 2009 European Holiday. (link to posts so far)
.

There aren't any blue shutters in this last picture but Mrs. Jim really likes these Citroën 2cv cars. She likes blue ones too and would drive one around here if I would get her one.
.
I have a blue Citroën in much better shape than this one. I am saving it in case I want to do mischief with it. Have to plan my escape route carefully, their top speed is 40 mph. Mine is a 1:18 scale diecast from Solido (
link for a grey one). I bought it in France back in 1992.

One Single Impression: Fragrance

Fragrance

God's gift to the nose
sweet aroma hurts my throat
God's curse to my skin

ex smoker confess
Gods curses are worse by far
than words of ex wife

bane of eczema
itching scratching rash--perfume
he's allergic to

I'll meet you at the blue bridge -- MidWeek Blues

For lunch.

I won't be late.

Be thinking of where you want to eat.

And what you want to eat.

If I have to pick I'll flip a coin.

We could picnic amongst the blue wildflowers.

Or sit on a rock overlooking the ravine.

Or I'll flip my coin.

We could start up my little blue boat and eat on the water. (Canal du Midi photo-collection link)

You could pack a lunch for either of these.

Oops, I don't see a lunch??

I shoulda' flipped a coin. My other friend cooks at her place.

One Single Impression: Inner Voice

The good and the bad--the great divide

Once upon a time there were two voices
From what you will hear intentions were pure
The scheme it may seem shun hateful vices
Cursed was the blight cure was never found

He loved since the start from them he did ask
Some good from their hearts that choice out of love
The errant he gives a kind gentle shove
From this favored one--their own Inner Voice

Other twin rebelled errancy he sides
Mischief in their hearts evil deeds he cheers
Sideline coach is he makes the bad seem good
Dark ill-favored one--tempter Outer Voice

The good or the bad--each must decide

Willis, Texas, Sky Pollution -- Looking At the Sky

If I hadn't of told you then you might have thought some place in the Boonies, it looks so awful. Willis is on Interstate 45 just north of Houston a bit. I like the suspended I-45 sign. Isn't invisible wire wonderful!

One Single Impression: Thinking

Thinking, one

thinking all the time
I've been thinking to myself
'bout something special
[cat is being awfully smug
since he ate the canary]

Thinking, two

I've been thinking of times we had;
places we went, nice life we lived,
and joys we shared. Thinking about you.

Been thinking of the home we made;
the house we found, children we have,
and the love we had. Thinking about us.

I've been thinking now that you've gone;
what did I do, where have you been?
I'm alone. Thinking about you and me.

Thinking, three

I've been thinking a lot of thoughts;
stay here alone, eat by myself;
could you come back? Been thinking about it?

- - - - - -

Thinking, four

I've been thinking a lot of thoughts.
So dearly we loved each other.
Oh would that you had not died.

FEMA did the blue -- MidWeek Blues --

What's the hold up with their insurance companies?

Hurricane Ike came last summer, nearly a year ago now. Still these people are having to live with temporary patches on their dwellings.

Almost immediately a FEMA rep showed up with the blue tarpaulins to keep the elements out of their homes.

Why even have insurance if we have to wait over a year for the repairs?

I'd be very blue too.

One Single Impression: The Stranger

The Stranger

He was tall dark and handsome
tall I like, handsome oh-oh
worries me the dark where come
far away those lands of woe

Him she loves top on her mind
can't be wrong with all her heart
he's so sweet gentle and kind
don't you please take us apart

Honey dear you're still so young
not for you he's much older
round the world I know his mind
just his kind makes him bolder

Slipped away the two of them
now she's lost her heart and soul
will she know heartache from him
mother's lost her only foal

Heifer's in expecting way
way too young new mom and self
oh they say sin doesn't pay
mated well swells master's pelf

Do you remember this -- MidWeek Blues

"Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
"And I do appreciate you being round.
"Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
"Won't you please, please help me?"
